Album The Lords Of Hypocrisy Author Hawk Site

Sometimes we ask weird questions. Where do some bands take their inspiration from? Let’s talk about the Brits of PAGAN ALTAR. Their second long player "Lords Of Hypocrisy" offers a lot of questions/ideas! The title track starts with a riff that lets the Metal fan think of “Strange Wings” by SAVATAGE, just with the exception that the PAGAN ALTAR ideas were conceived between 1978 and 1983. Then several songs contain passages that should have given the Speed Metal and with that also Thrash, Black and Death Metal scene new wind. And also the mystic, epic Metal fraction a la MANILLA ROAD should worship PAGAN ALTAR. P.A. singer Terry Jones at times sounds like a mix of Mark Shelton and Ozzy sung through a kiddie trumpet. The music? Like a mix of BLACK SABBATH and ATOMIC ROOSTER, meaning: very dark, melodic, catchy and also damn cranky, weird, but extremely whacked out. Weird, rare and absolutely brilliant. Tolerant quirk fans will love this album!!! (Online May 17, 2005).
